The name is Rich otherwise known as RIB, dad of 2 little boys 8 and 10 also a little girl aged 5

My partner as a lot of you may know from the old school trucking streams is Kate and yes she is still amazing and needs a medal for putting up with me for 14 years now.

I have been gaming all my life, now turning 39 I have plenty of years doing it.

The passion for gaming/PC's started at a early age watching a uncle play a snooker game on

what I believe to be a commadore 64, my first console was a mega drive as well as also owning amiga pc's and also my own C64, I have always loved and been fascinated with desktop computers

My dad who is now 71 has always been a very keen flight simmer and during my childhood
he always flew and owned all the flight simulator games. The one I remember vividly and played 

myself I think was Flight Simulator 2004

So I was 15 and my dad and his friends needed a place like a website/forum and teamspeak for 

them to talk about all things sim, this was the first community i had ever setup

It was called GoAirUK this community ran for 15 years
The community and GoAirUK was a lot more than just a website
GoAirUK operated with the aid of programs such as fsairlines/acars we ran just like a real airline
This was once of the first VA's in the UK and at its time as well known within the UK and flight
Simulator communities

It is now september 2013 Arma3 was released
I will never forget a member of GoAirUK called Max had been playing a game called Arma3
Myself and quite a few of the other lads were intrigued having for only flying only for years
We made the plunge and many of the members from goair and myself headed over to check it out

This was the first time and a time ill never forget when we ventured on to a Altis Life server
I couldnt believe that there were people protending to be police, people being medics, chaos 

throughout the towns shooting everywhere /cars crashing / explosions

I remember it well.

After a while I purchased my first ever gameserver to host our own Altis Life server.

This lasted a long time and many great memories were created

Over the years and 15,000 hours later I had setup many servers, modded servers, custom maps

Epoch servers /overpoch servers / Exile / Roleplay and for the first time i began

to map build (create little maps to put into the game)

. My dad is also bit of a artist in his spare time (portraits etc) so i presume this is where the creativity comes from.

Also in around 2013 a game besides Arma3 we started playing more and more was called Euro truck simulator2,  Arma3 had kind of died out and had its day 15,000 hours later
So like we did with arma3 after a long time driving together on this game we setup a truck company called RP haulage and the group was known as the RIBPACK which is still refered to today.

 

So like Arma3 RIBPACK grew, often with over 30 of us on a convoy and around this time I started streaming most nights on youtube driving with the RIBPACK
We attended many events and truck shows massive convoys with thousends of people
We celebrated others birthdays with massive convoys and drinks! Good times
We did this for many years, I still hop on every now and again driving will always be a pssion.

 

​Its now 2015 and FIVEM was released

The first most popular of its time FiveM server released was SOE 

State of emergency by evolpcgaming

A lot of us roleplayers began on arma3 roleplay servers so most people were familiar with RP
and joined up.
A lot of the big names i knew of from arma3 like Timmac & Koil who started as critical gaming and towards the end of arma3 rebranded to NoPixel you know of from today had also joined up

This was the death of Arma3 , FiveM RP was OUT

So here we are again we all started getting into FiveM / still driving on ets2 but less and less as FiveM took over. 

Just  like arma3 I played on many servers but after many hours I once again started our own

I enjoyed the development and tinkering with files. Still do I get a lot of enjoyment messing with code and fixing scripts/ testing things out.

Sosay Nation many OG's know the original. Not fivem like today, back then it wasnt about the shooting, it was about having a damn good laugh with your friends and good times.
Many many laughs have been had over the years.

Years later and the FiveM we know today is not like it is back then, not in the same league.

I have owned a few servers over the last 10 years as you could imagine from Sosay Nation to NRG v1,v2,v3 , OG RP, Buzz RP and probably a couple others along the way

​

As years go on it got more and more difficult with running a 5m server, the cheats of today is atrocious, the arena ego mentality the toxicity the crying its just too damn much i can be assed to deal with, 10 years later i just do not have the patience/time with kids and work or  a passion to deal with shit heads your never going to bring them old school 5m good times back.

​

Over the 10 years and running my own servers as you can imagine i have gained a lot of experience with many frameworks and resources, I have vaults full of server packs from old to new some real old school rare fivem scripts in these packs they are full of everything from maps / clothes / cars, all my past server files are here on the website, last one being NRG which only closed a couple of month ago, 

Over this time I have always also built and designed maps wether or ymaps or mlos just like i did back in arma3

Back to present day I still enjoy roleplaying whether that being on fivem or redm i can have a lot of fun on both 

I am still a very keen simulator enthusiast whether that being driving/trucking or flight sim. I enjoy them all and think I always will.
